ABOUT
WHAT WE DO
Since 1986, UVLA has given under-served and low-income residents of Montrose, Delta, Ouray, Gunnison, Hinsdale, and San Miguel counties the resources to resolve legal issues and remove themselves and their children from unsafe situations. We provide a wide range of free services including: one-on-one consultation, pro se assistance and support, mediation, and pro bono representation. See our full range of services.
HOW WE DO IT
Our staff consists of an Executive Director and an Intake Coordinator who serve our community with enormous help from volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and court staff. We give clients the agency and knowledge to move forward confidently and make the decisions that are best for themselves and their families, regardless of their ability to hire an attorney. In doing so,
we increase the community knowledge base on how to deal with legal issues and help to break generational cycles of instability. UVLA receives funding from local governments, bar associations, and community foundations in order to keep our services free.
Call us at (970)249-7202 and we’ll conduct a short
interview to help us determine if you qualify for the next step.
